Govt permits export of Bangalore Rose & Krishnapuram onions upto 10,000 MT each

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) Empowering farmers & increasing their income, the Government has permitted export of Bangalore rose onions and Krishnapuram onions of up to 10,000 MT each.
''Export of Bangalore rose onions and Krishnapuram onions (Serial Number 52, Chapter 7), upto quantity of 10,000 MT each, has been allowed for the period upto March 31, 2021, with immediate effect,'' a Directorate General of Foreign Trade notification said on Thursday.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted on Friday, ''Empowering farmers & increasing their income, Govt permits export of Bangalore rose onions & Krishnapuram onions of up to 10,000 MT each.''
The DGFT said, the export shipment of Bangalore rose onion will be allowed only through Chennai port and export to be completed by March 31, 2021.
An exporter will have to get a certificate from the Horticulture Commissioner, Government of Karnataka certifying the item and the quantity of Bangalore rose onion to be exported.
The certificate will be registered by the exporter at the Office of Additional DGFT, Bangalore which will monitor the total quantity being allowed for exports and issue registration certificate based on the quantity of Bangalore Rose Onion allowed for export by Horticulture Commissioner, Government of Karnataka.
The Customs Authorities at the Chennai port will allow export of Bangalore Rose Onion on the basis of Certificate from Horticulture Commissioner and registration certificate from Office of Additional DGFT, Bangalore.
Similarly, the export shipment of Krishnapuram onion will be allowed only through Chennai port and export to be completed by March 31, 2021.
The exporter will have to get a certificate from the Assistant Director, Horticulture Kadapa, Government of Andhra Pradesh certifying the quantity of Krishnapuram Onion for export purpose.
The certificate will be registered by the exporter at the Office of Zonal Additional DGFT, Chennai, who will monitor the total quantity being allowed for exports and issue registration certificate based on the quantity of Krishnapuram onion issued for export by Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The Customs Authorities at the Chennai port will allow export of Krishnapuram onion on the basis of Certificate from Assistant Director, Horticulture Kadapa, Government of Andhra Pradesh and registration certificate from Office of Additional DGFT, Chennai submitted by the exporter.
