New Delhi, Nov 17, 2020 (UNI/TNM): Indian cricket team has set its eyes on the high profile three-match series with Australia and the action will be gripping for cricket fans. The Indian team will play three one-day matches, three T20 matches and four test matches during its tour of Australia. Indian team hasn’t been very successful in Australia in the past but Virat Kohli has been surprising cricket fans by pulling the best performance of his team members.

Indian cricket team will be playing 10 matches during its two month tour of Australia. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, many sports events have been delayed and this is the first major tour of Indian team after COVID-19 lockdowns were announced. The IPL 2020 tournament just finished with Mumbai Indians winning the final by 5 wickets. The event was hosted in UAE due to COVID-19 pandemic but stats suggest that it has broken all previous records for viewership.

Indian team has strong chances to showcase a better performance against Australia in the current series and this will offer an interesting opportunity for bettors. Betting on cricket events in India is nothing new for Indian cricket fans. Almost all the high profile matches attract millions of bids from bettors trying their luck. There are many platforms offering options to bet on cricket matches but it is important to choose a reliable and regulated betting platform. The online, legal sports betting industry has been predicted to grow at a fast pace in India. The number of operators in Indian online betting segment has been steadily rising and the membership on these platforms has been increasing as well.

Indian team has played 26 series with Australia so far and has won 9 series. Australian team has won 12 series and 5 have ended up in a draw. So far, both teams have played 98 matches and India has won 28 matches. Australia has won 42 matches while 27 have ended up as draw. But in case of T20 matches, Indian team has performed better. Out of 21 total matches played between both the teams, India has won 11 matches while Australia has won 8 matches.

Team India is surely stronger under leadership of Virat Kohli and there is a lot of fresh talent. On the other side, Australian team also has some very prolific players including Aaron Finch, David Warner, Joe Burns and Steve Smith. It will be a delight to watch Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh on the ground during the series.

The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) shared the photo of Indian team on twitter and announced that the team members will be following the health and safety regulations. The ‘new normal’ due to COVID-19 lockdowns and changes for the sports events will results in matches being played under strict conditions. As majority of team India players were participating under their team franchisee during IPL2020, they have finally returned to Team India.

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma will join Team India later this month. Ishant Sharma is recovering from oblique muscle tear injury and he will also join Team India later this month. The series with Australia will start with first match scheduled for November 27. While majority of Indian players have been playing in IPL 2020, the short resting time will be enough for the team members to be ready to take on the Australians in their home ground.
