Maruti Suzuki domestic sales down 9.26 pc year-on-year in July

New Delhi, August 1 (UNI) The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki on Thursday reported a 9.26% decline in domestic sales in the month of July 2024 at 1,40,354 units as compared to 1,54,685 units in the same month a year ago.
"In July 2024, Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 175,041 units. Total sales in the month include domestic sales of 140,354 units, sales to other OEM (original equipment manufacturer) of 10,702 units and exports of 23,985 units," Maruti Suzuki said in a media release.
The company saw sales dipping in both Compact and Utility Vehicles segments. The compact car segment comprising models like Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR declined saw 12.54% year-on-year decline to 58,682 units in July this year.
The Utility Vehicles segment comprising models like Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny and XL6 witnessed 9% year-on-year decline to 56,302 units in the month of July this year.
The total sales of Maruti Suzuki comprising sales to other OEM and exports, however, declined a relatively lower 3.62% year-on-year to 175,041 units in July 2024 as compared to 181,630 units in July 2023.
