Mumbai, Aug 1 (UNI) The BSE Sensex remained strong for the fourth consecutive session on Thursday, rising 126.21 pts to close a new high at 81,867.55 on firm global cues.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 59.75 pts at 25,010.90.
The Sensex rallied 208 pts at 81,949.68 in the opening session. It advanced 386 pts at 82,129.49, a day high, before closing at 81,867.55, up 126.21 pts from its previous close.
Stocks include, Utilities were up by 2.04 pc, Power by 0.86 pc, Energy by 0.80 pc, and Oil and Gas by 0.59 pc.
The Mid Cap fell by 0.80 pc and Small Cap fell by 0.70 pc.
The gainers were Powergrid by 3.84 pc to Rs 362, HDFC Bank by 1.85 pc to Rs 1647, NTPC by 1.79 pc to Rs 423.50, Nestle India Ltd by 1.38 pc to Rs 2490 and Adani Ports by 1.07 pc to Rs 1586.45.
The losers were M& M by 2.76 pc to Rs 2827, Tata Steel by 1.36 pc to Rs 163.10, Bajaj Finserv by 1.20 pc to Rs 1633.40 and SBI by 1.20 pc to Rs 862.30.
