Mumbai, July 29 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Monday ended almost flat at 81,355.84, rising 23.12 pts as buying was seen in Industrial, Oil and Gas and Realty stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) ended unchanged at 24,836.10, up 1.25 pts.
Volatility was witnessed during the day, as the Sensex surged 347 pts to open at 81,679.65, a new high. It spurted 576 pts at 81,908.43, a day high before closing at 81,355.84, rising 23.12 pts from its previous close.
Meantime, it slipped 197 pts at 81,135.91, day low.
The stocks that kept the market were industrials, which had 2.33 pc, capital goods, which had 2.73 pc, real estate, which had 1.51 pc, and oil and gas, which had 1.17 pc.
The Mid Cap gained 0.80 pc and the Small Cap by 1.17 pc.
In 30 scrips, 17 advanced while 13 declined.
The gainers were L& T by 2.68 pc to Rs 3771.90, Bajaj Finance by 2.05 pc to Rs 1621.65, M& M by 2.05 pc to Rs 2946, Ultracemco by 1.42 pc to Rs 11845 and SBI by 1.04 pc to Rs 871.95.
The losers were Bharti Airtel by 2.06 pc to Rs 1483.55, Titan by 1.96 pc to Rs 3427, ITC by 1.23 pc to Rs 496.40, and Kotak Bank by 1.1,3 pc to Rs 1793.75.
