HDFC opens its 1st all-women branch in Kozhikode

Kozhikode, Aug 18 (UNI) HDFC Bank, India’s leading bank, has announced the opening of its first all-women branch in North Kerala at Kozhikode.
The branch, located in Cherootty Road, the hub of traders in Calicut, will have 4 women bankers, a release said.
This adds to all-women branches opened by the Bank in southern India. It takes forward the bank’s inherent values of diversity and inclusion.
The branch was inaugurated by Dr. Beena Philip, Mayor of Corporation of Calicut, to on Wednesday.
Other dignitaries from the bank present during the inauguration ceremony of 245th branch in the Kerala State were Mr. Somesh Nambiar, Circle Head, Kerala; Mr. Abhilash Nair, Cluster Head, Kerala.
HDFC Bank is driving diversity and inclusion within the organization with a special focus on enhancing gender diversity.
As on March 31, 2022, women constituted 21.7 per cent of the workforce and the target is to increase it to 25 per cent by 2025.
“The opening of the all-women branch is yet another example of our efforts to take forward the gender and diversity initiatives of the bank. It also reinforces our commitment to providing banking services to our customers through our fast-expanding bank distribution and network," said Sanjeev Kumar, Branch Banking Head, South (Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Kerala).
"With rising economic growth and expanding opportunities, the bank will provide a one-stop banking solution to its customers / people."
