HDFC Life FY-22 total premium jumps 19 per cent to Rs 45,963 cr

Pune, Apr 27 (UNI) HDFC Life Insurance, most valued private life insurer, on Wednesday announced that their total premium for FY2021-22 was at Rs 45,963 crore, up by 19 per cent over Rs 38,583 crore during the corresponding period of last fiscal year.
Its new business premium grew by 20 per cent to Rs 24,155 crore from Rs 20,107 crore year-on-year, a company press release said here.
Its renewal premium during the 12-month period ending March 31, 2022 jumped 18 per cent to Rs 21,808 crore, as compared to Rs 18,477 crore during the corresponding period ending March 31, 2021.
On the claims front, HDFC Life has honoured 3.9 lakh claims during April 2021 to March 2022.
HDFC Life covered 54 million lives up to March 31, 2022, registering an increase of 36 per cent over previous year.
Speaking on the occasion, Vibha Padalkar, managing director & chief executive officer, HDFC Life, said, “We continue to deliver consistent all-round performance and be ranked amongst the top three life insurers in the industry. Despite very trying times during the last two years of pandemic, our two year CAGR of 17 per cent was almost two times industry growth of nine per cent.”
