Visakhapatnam, Mar 2 (UNI) Minister for Industries and Commerce Gudivada Amarnath said that the objective of the Global Investors Summit 2023 is to attract Rs 2 lakh crore investments. The Global Investors Summit 2021 is being held in Visakhapatnam on March 3 and 4.

Talking to the media here on Thursday, minister Amarnath said that delegates from 46 countries are attending the Global Investors Summit being held on March 3 and 4 here. He said that they have focussed on attracting investments on 14 key sectors, and assured of extending all required help and guidance to the investors.

“Attracting Rs 2 lakh crore investments during the Global Investor Summit to churn out huge employment opportunities in the state,” the minister said.

Amarnath said that all arrangements have been made for the prestigious Global Investors Summit 2023 and 14,000 registrations have been made so far. “All arrangements have been made for the delegates coming from various countries. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has already arrived here and other ministers are also coming. The Chief Minister will formally inaugurate the GIS on March 3 at 10:15 AM,” the minister stated.

“A host of ambassadors of various countries, renowned industrialists and other prominent persons will attend the sessions,” the Industry minister said, adding that MoUs would be signed with various companies during the GIS, he added.

The Chief Minister will participate in ‘back to back’ meetings with some of the industrialists, the minister stated. The main objective of the summit is to boost the state economy and generate huge employment potential for the youth of the state.

“We would like to announce industrial policy on March 3 itself but the election code of conduct is preventing us from doing so” he observed. Steps would be taken to realize 80% of MoUs, he made it clear. Meanwhile, Tourism minister R K Roja said that Rs 21,000 crore worth MoU would be signed in the Tourism sector during the GIS 2023.

The Global Investors Summit will begin on Friday and Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkar delivers a keynote address. Renowned industrialists including Mukesh Ambani, Karan Adani and Arjun Obaroi will also address during the first session.
