STPL No 1 in PLF among thermal power plants

Hyderabad, Jan 4 (UNI) Singareni Thermal Power Plant (STPL) stood first place among the state government run thermal power stations in the country for the period from April 2021 to till December 2021 by achieving a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 87.18 per cent in the ranking conducted Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
In a review meeting of Solar and Thermal plants here on Tuesday, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N. Sridhar showered praises on Singareni Thermal power plant for standing No. 1 among the Country’s Thermal power stations with the best Plant Load Factor (PLF).
Telangana State GENCO stood second with 73.98 percent PLF, West Bengal Power Development Corporation (WBPDC) stood third with 70.29 per cent PLF, Chattisgarh Power Generation Corporation Limited (CPGCL) stood fourth with 68.10 per cent PLF while Odisha Power Generation Corporation stood fifth with 63.95 per cent PLF and Andhra Pradesh GENCO stood sixth with 58.83 percent PLF.
Sridhar congratulated the plant officials and employees of Singareni Thermal power plant for standing first among the power plants managed by the State.
From the beginning Singareni Thermal Power plant has been achieving good PLF and standing first among the Thermal Power plants, however in the last Financial year upto December, 5,335 Million units of power was generated and this financial year upto the end of December 6904 million tonnes of power was produced with a growth rate of 29 percent.
There is a growth of 20 per cent in power business in the first 9- months of this Financial Year when compared to last Financial Year.
Last year, Rs. 2,386 crores sales recorded upto December, whereas present year sales were raised to Rs. 2879 crores.
Sridhar instructed that the electrification of the railway line from Srirampur area to thermal plant must be completed in the next six months.
He appreciated that the thermal power plant is being managed without any accidents but still he suggested that steps be taken by setting up a committee to finalize security issues.
