Rubber price down by Rs 15 in one-and-half month

Kottayam, Jan 13 (UNI) The price of RSS-four variety of rubber has declined by Rs 15 and stood at Rs 150 per kg in the domestic market compared with Rs 165 per kg in December last.
The reason for the decline in the price was attributed to the reduction of the price of rubber in the international market and increase in production in the state, sources said on Wednesday.
The international price of rubber has come down by Rs 28 and amounted to Rs 186.9 in the Bangkok market at the beginning of December 2020. Now the price was fell down to Rs 158.
The production of rubber rose to about one lakh tonnes in December last as against 87,000 tonnes in the month of November 2020.
The decline in the price of rubber has affected mostly the middle income cultivators.
Normally, the production of rubber used to go up during the months of November and December.
