K'taka govt gives go ahead to four projects worth Rs 556 cr

Mangaluru, Aug 6 (UNI) The Karnataka government on Thursday gave the go-ahead for four projects, including a project by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) that will be set up in the coastal region.
The four projects costing Rs 556 crore will boost the economic activity in undivided Dakshina Kannada, amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Out of these four projects, the biggest investment of about Rs 500 crore will be made by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which will set up an ITescen- treat in Karnad village.
The TCS project will provide employment to over 4,000 when fully functional and will come up on a 38-acre land parcel.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath shared the news on his Twitter account.
''Greetings. Reportedly, TCS to invest Rs 500 crore in TULUNAD. This will create 4,500 jobs. Will try to get contact details so that localities will benefit. This is really amazing news. The total investment in this region is Rs. 556 Cr with 4-5 companies coming in,'' he posted.
