Alembic Pharma reports Rs 35 crore profit in Q4FY22

Mumbai, May 2 (UNI) Alembic Pharmaceuticals on Monday reported profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 35.46 crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2022 (Q4) as compared to Rs 250.7 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
In a media statement, the drug major said that the net profit of Rs 35 crore in the January-March quarter of FY22 is post charging off non-recurring expense of Rs 188 crore.
The company's revenue from operation during Q4FY22 stood at Rs 1,415.74 crore as compared to Rs 1,280.39 crore in the same period of the previous financial year.
For the year ended March 31, 2022, Alembic Pharma reported a consolidated PAT of Rs 545.68 crore as against Rs 1,178.11 crore in 2020-21. The revenue from operations for FY22 stood at Rs 5,305.79 crore as against Rs 5,393.13 crore in FY21.
“India branded business continues to deliver strong market beating growth in Q4. India business witnessed market outperforming growth across most of the products and therapy areas,” said Shaunak Amin, Managing Director, Alembic Pharma.
The company said its US business grew 17% in the January-March quarter.
"We continue to remain focused on the US business hence we acquired the balance 40% stake in Aleor Dermaceuticals, making it a wholly owned subsidiary of the company,” said company Managing Director Pranav Amin.
