IT officials 'survey' premises linked to Sonu Sood

IT officials 'survey' premises linked to Sonu Sood

Mumbai, Sep 15 (UNI) Officials of Income Tax Department on Wednesday 'surveyed' premises related to actor Sonu Sood here and some other places in connection with an alleged tax evasion, sources said.
The survey was conducted at at least six other locations which included Lucknow too, the sources added.
However, it was not clear if the premises included Sood's residence too.
The 48-year-old actor was in the limelight for helping migrants during the nationwide lockdown imposed to curb Covid 19 last year.
Recently, he was declared brand ambassador of Delhi government's 'Desh Ka Mentors' programme which was aimed at guiding students in making their career choices.
Meanwhile, AAP leader Atishi said the survey was a clear message by the Bharatiya Janata Party that they would victimise anyone who does good work.
'The ‘survey’ of actor-and-philanthropist @SonuSood by the IT Dept is a clear message by BJP that they will victimise anyone who does good work for the country? Was it a crime for @SonuSood to help migrants during the lockdown? Was it a crime for him to help those in difficulty?,' she tweeted.
