Dubai, Oct 27 (UNI) Quick-fire fifties by Wriddhiman Saha and David Warner powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to a mammoth total of 219/2 against Delhi Capitals in the 47th match of the IPL 2020 match, at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, here on Tuesday.
Saha showed his class with a 45-ball 87 while captain David Warner scored 66 off 34. Apart from Warner and Saha, Manish Pandey (44 off 31balls) also made valuable contributions towards the end of the innings.
After being invited to bat first, the new opening pair of David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha gave SRH a cracking start. They put on 77 in the first 6 overs, the highest Powerplay score of the season so far.
During the process, Warner also completed his fifty off 25 balls. Warner was taking on the DC pacers while Saha was going after the spinners.
The duo dealt in boundaries and took SRH over 100 runs in just 9 overs.
Ashwin broke the 107-run stand between David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha by dismissing the former. Warner got out after scoring 66 off 34.
Manish Pandey joined Saha in the middle after Warner's wicket. Saha continued where Warner left and thrashed Tushar Deshpande boundaries to got to his 1st IPL 2020 fifty off 27 balls.
Saha-Pandey was flourishing nicely and SRH were cruising towards a big total. Especially, the way Saha was toying with DC bowlers, he was looking set to score century. However, Saha missed out on a hundred and departed after scoring 87 off 45 balls.
Manish Pandey took on the scoring responsibility after Saha's wicket. He played a 31-ball 44 knock and powered SRH to 219/2 in 20 overs. Kane Williamsion also remained not out on 11.
