Newborn found dead in bushes in Phagwara

Phagwara, Oct 27 (UNI) A newborn baby boy was found dead in bushes near railway lines on Phagwara-Goraya railway section near Gobindpura rail crossing locality this morning.
Railway Police have registered a case under Section 318 of the IPC. GRP in-charge Gurbeij Singh told UNI here that few morning walkers found the body and informed the Deputy Station Superintendent Avtar Singh about it, who informed GRP.
The GRP in-charge said it might be done by an unmarried girl who delivered the infant and threw away in the bushes. When contacted SDM Phagwara Balbir Raj Singh and Civil Surgeon Kapurthala Harpreet Singh Kahlon assured to take serious notice and instruct the health department to check the various nursing homes and midwives to nab the culprits.
