Bhubaneswar, Sep 25 (UNI) A new train will be introduced between Sambalpur and Kolkata soon, Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan said here on Sunday.
The minister made the announcement after reviewing the progress of various ongoing railway projects at Anugul and Talcher with senior Railway officials of East Coast Railway.
Pradhan said the new train will run between Sambalpur and Kolkata via Anugul, Talcher and Dhenkanal .
Describing the proposed new train as a puja gift to the people of the area, the minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Aswini Vaishanaw for it.
He said railway projects worth around Rs 2500 crore are going on in Anugul and Dhenkanal areas. In addition to reviving Talcher, Talcher Road, Anugul and Dhenkanal, work is on for doubling railway lines and laying third and fourth railway lines in various railway stations.
He said very soon the work for the laying of railway line for one passenger train and two goods trains will be completed.
Pradhan said the Rs 500 crore Talcher-Anugul railway line via FCI and NALCO will be completed by November end.
He said due to the arrangements made by the union government, Angul district is getting Rs 350 crore per annum under DMF for undertaking development works.
Pradhan said MCL has given Rs eight crore for the development of the Hinguala temple, the presiding deity of Talcher.
He said steps would be taken for the construction of separate roads for the transportation of coal and communication of people in the area. UNI BD SSP
