New Delhi, Jan 26 (UNI) Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Saturday shared the new poster of his upcoming war drama movie 'Kesari'.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Akshay said, 'Happy Republic Day. It’s our #70thRepublicDay but our men have been fighting for the country since time unknown. 122 years ago, 21 Sikhs fought against 10000 invaders.#KESARI is their story, in cinemas on March 21.'

The period war drama film, stars Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles.

Directed by Anurag Singh, it tells the story of Havildar Ishar Singh, who participated in the Battle of Saragarhi (in which an army of 21 Sikhs fought against 10,000 Afghans in 1897), while yearning for the respect of his estranged daughter.

Principal photography of the film began in January 2018, while the movie is scheduled for release on March 21.
