New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday termed the newly-implemented National Education Policy (NEP) in the country as a policy with far-reaching and far-reaching consequences and said it will pave the way for the creation of a new India.
In his address to the nation on the occasion of 74th Independence Day, Mr Kovind said with a view to impart education to future needs of youth of the country, the Central Government had recently decided to implement the National Education Policy.
He expressed confidence that the NEP would develop a new quality education system that would pave the way for a new India by turning the challenges of the future into opportunities.
"Our youth will have the freedom to choose their subjects according to their interests and talents. They will have the opportunity to develop their abilities. Our future generations will be able to not only get employment on the strength of these qualifications, but also generate employment opportunities for others as well," he said.
He termed the NEP as "a policy with far-reaching and far-reaching consequences' and added that it would "strengthen the culture of inclusion, innovation and institution in education." Under the NEP, importance has been given to studies in the mother tongue, so that the child can flourish easily. Also, it would give the necessary strength to the unity of all Indian languages and India.
He said that empowerment of its youth was necessary for empowering any nation and the NEP was a major step in this direction.
