New 'Kabuliwala' film on Afghan-born author Atiq Rahimi's goals

Marrakech, Dec 7 (UNI) Afghan-born French writer and filmmaker Atiq Rahimi says he is likely to revisit his 'Kabuliwala' film project based on the famous short story by Rabindranath Tagore.
"Tagore is like a god. I like the story of the Kabuliwala and maybe I will take up this film project again," Rahimi told UNI on the sidelines of the 18th Marrakech International Film Festival where he is a member of the international jury this year.
Rahimi, who has lived in Delhi and Mumbai for two years in the late '70s, had initiated his film project based on Tagore's 1892 story of a poor Pashtun street vendor's fascinating friendship with a five-year-old girl in Kolkata a decade ago.
