New device for throat cancer patients to get back lost voice

Chennai, Jan 11 (UNI): Throat cancer patients who have lost their voice could look forward to speaking again, thanks to an innovoated voice-box prothesis developed by Bengaluru-based Health Care Global Enterprises Limited (HCG).
Talking to newspersons here, HCG Head and Neck Surgeon Dr Vishal Rao, who had innovated this device, said it was an artificial device made of silicone that could help laryngectomised patients to speak again.
''One of the major disadvantages for throat cancer patients is the removal of the voice box when they undergo Laryngectomy.
