Netrika Consulting acquires Hyderabad based online anti-piracy firm to boost capacities in IPR and brand protection

Kolkata, Dec 12 (UNI) India’s top risk management and corporate frauds investigations company Netrika Consulting, today announced its acquisition of Anti Piracy Solutions (APS), a homegrown global online anti-piracy services and strategic consulting company based in Kondapur, Hyderabad.
With the technological synergy attained through this acquisition, Netrika will now be better positioned to effectively lead the fight against unauthorised leaks and peddling of copyrighted intellectual properties such as movies, music albums and even educational contents online. This synergy will also boost Netrika’s capability in the fight against the online sale of counterfeit goods which is a serious issue facing the growing popularity of online shopping, a company release issued here said.
Founder and CEO, Mr Chaitanya N of Anti Piracy Solutions (APS) will continue and also function as a Director at Netrika Consulting.
Commenting on the acquisition, Mr Sanjay Kaushik, Managing Director, Netrika Consulting said, “Piracy is a universal concern which besides being an IPR concern is causing huge losses to both corporates as well as governments globally. We are happy to welcome Anti Piracy Solutions into our fold and we are confident to protect our clientele from piracy both online and offline”.
With over 1000 movies produced annually, Indian film industry accounts for $2 Billion annual revenue from legitimate sources.
The pirated industry, however, earns more with estimated earnings of about $2.7 billion. The sorry state of affairs extends to other streams like music industry & education companies that deliver courses online, Kaushik added.
