Kathmandu, Oct 9 (UNI) A Nepali teenaged climber has scripted history by becoming the world's youngest to join the coveted club of those who have summited all 14 peaks above 8,000 metres, media reports said.
Nima Rinji Sherpa, 18, from Makalu, stood atop Mt Shishapangma in Tibet on Wednesday and became the youngest person ever to summit all 14 highest mountains above 8,000 metres, said Chhang Dawa Sherpa, expedition director at Seven Summit Treks, reported The Himalayan Times.
Nima Rinji, along with his climbing partner Passang Nurbu Sherpa, reached the summit of Shishapangma at around 6.05 am CST completing all 14 peaks above 8,000 metres, said Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, Nima Rinji's father and Chief Executive Officer at 14 Peaks Expedition.
