Nepal: ECN publishes NA voters' list

Kathmandu, Jan 22 (UNI) The Election Commission of Nepal has published list of voters’ of the National Assembly election slated for February 7, a report in The Himalayan Times said.
According to the voters' list, published on Sunday, of the 2,056 voters — 1,506 local level chiefs and deputy chiefs and 550 Provincial Assembly members, the poll panel also published the name of absconding Provincial Assembly member Rajib Gurung alias Deepak Manange and late Khadga Bahadur Katuwal.
The ECN, which on Sunday published the voter list for NA election, said it listed the names of Manange because it did not get any notice from the court about Manange’s conviction in an attempt to murder case. The ECN also said that it listed Katuwal’s name because it did not get a notice of Katuwal’s death. Katuwal, who was chairman of Makalu Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha district died in a jeep accident last Sunday.
