Shillong, Nov 10 (UNI) Unidentified persons vandalised the residence of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Vice-Chancellor Prabha Shankar Shukla and his official vehicle in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Sunday also briefed Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on the ongoing crisis in NEHU and urged him to find an amicable solution to this issue.
Shukla was not present in his official bungalow inside the sprawling NEHU campus when the incident occurred since he left campus on Saturday evening after students under the banner of NEHU Students’ Union (NEHUSU) rejected his request to call off their indefinite hunger strike, which they started on October 5.
