Neha Dhupia relaunches 'Freedom to Feed' honouring World Breastfeeding Week 2025

Mumbai, Aug 4 (UNI) Bollywood actress-producer Neha Dhupia has resurrected a social media campaign 'Freedom to Feed', aligning its relaunch with World Breastfeeding Week 2025.
The event, born out of an initiative by Dhupia in 2019, is celebrated every year from August 1-7.
The initiative grew organically out of Dhupia's own experiences of motherhood and her determination to normalise breastfeeding in public spaces, without shame, stigma or judgement. Overtime, the campaign has evolved into a space where mothers and caregivers share their experiences and talk openly.
For the 2025 edition, Dhupia has curated a sequence of digital conversations with celebrated actresses Radhika Apte, Yuvika Chaudhary and Sonali Sehgall, tackling subjects such as reproductive rights, social conditioning, emotional turbulence and the invisible labour bound to motherhood.
These dialogues delve into themes of bodily autonomy, societal expectations and the complex emotional terrain of motherhood. The conversations will be shared throughout the week on their social media channels.
So far, the campaign has received support from several celebrities like Bipasha Basu, Freida Pinto, Soha Ali Khan and Dia Mirza who have been vocal about breastfeeding and women's health.
Reflecting on the campaign’s evolution, Dhupia shared, “When I first launched Freedom to Feed, it came from a deeply personal space — from feeling vulnerable, judged, and isolated. Over the years, I’ve realised how many women have felt the same.
"This year, I want to make the conversation even louder, even more honest. Because no woman should be made to feel ashamed for simply feeding her child. This is about choice, dignity, and respect. And it’s time we all stood up for that.” UNI NST SSP
