Nearly 50 fall sick after eating contaminated food

Begusarai, Sep 18 (UNI) At least 50 people fell sick after eating contaminated ‘prasad’ distributed among them on the occasion of Vishwakarma Puja, under Chhaurahi police station area in the district last night.
Police said here that the prasad was distributed among devotees at Patahi and Matihani villages and at least 50 people, majority of them children fell sick after eating it. Sources said that some sick people were admitted to private hospitals while others to local primary health centres. Sources said samples of ‘prasad’ had been seized for laboratory test.
Further investigation is on, police added.
