Guwahati, Jan 17 (UNI) With the NDFB(S) faction entering the peace process, the Bodo militant outfit has virtually been wiped out, Assam Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta said here today.
Addressing a press conference here, Mahanta said, “The NDFB faction, led by B Saoraigwra, has signed a Suspension of Operation with the Government of India and the Government of Assam yesterday. They have joined the peace process along with 27 other leaders and cadres of the outfit, including their ‘general secretary’ BR Ferenga and ‘finance secretary’ B Dwmwilu.”
“They have come with their families also, and we have kept them at a safe location. Now only a miniscule number of NDFB members remain outside the peace process and we appeal everyone to return to the mainstream,” he said.
