New Delhi, Feb 9 (UNI) The Rajya Sabha on Tuesday passed the National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Second (Amendment) Bill, 2021 that will help regularize the unauthorized colonies in Delhi.
Thanking the Parliamentarians for supporting the bill, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri said that the bill will improve the living condition of 1.35 cr people living in Delhi and added that the Central Vista project will make Delhi one of the finest Capitals in the world.
"Delhi will not only benefit from the improvement in living condition of 1.35 crore people but the Central Vista project will also make Delhi one of the finest cities in the world," the Minister said.
Earlier question were raised by the members as to why was the bill brought in the form of an ordinance.
Responding to all queries, Mr Puri said that if the winter Session of the Parliament had been convened, there would have been no need for an Ordinance. "If we had not brought the Ordinance and waited for this Session, authorities would have started sealing properties," he averred.
The bill was introduced by Mr Puri on Monday.
