NCRB crime 2024 statistics: UP among the lowest crime rate state

Lucknow, May 7 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh's crime rate has declined sharply compared to the national average, underscoring the state's zero tolerance towards crime and criminals, the state police chief claimed on Thursday.
“Against a national crime rate of 252.3, UP stands at 180.2," claimed UP Director General of Police Rajeev Krishna, quoting the National Crime Records Bureau data in 2024.
The DGP said,"This improvement reflects the results of sustained and deliberate effort. Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, zero tolerance towards crime has moved from a policy to ground reality".
