NCPUL urges Goa Govt to look into problems faced by Urdu medium schools

Panaji, Dec 8 (UNI) National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) has urged Goa Government to look into the problems faced by the Urdu medium schools in the state and make efforts so that high quality education could be provided to students.
In a letter addressed to Nila Mohanan, Secretary (Education), Government of Goa, NCPUL Director Dr Aquil Ahmad has said that during his meeting with different Urdu medium schools in the state imparting Urdu education in their respective areas he got to know that the government was not giving an approval for starting the Urdu education in their schools as a subject from fifth standard.
''The state government is not appointing regular Urdu teachers in their schools where Urdu education is a part of school curriculum. No inspection of Urdu medium schools was done for the last seven to eight years in the wake of non-appointment of District Inspector in Urdu. There is a general complaint that the Urdu school text books are not available on time. There is also no arrangement of training of in-service-Urdu teachers for enhancement of their teaching quality,'' Dr Ahmad has said.
