NCP leader Munde blames Mah Govt, administration for acute water shortage in Thane's Shahapur taluka

Thane, May 22 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council and senior NCP leader, Dhananjay Munde, on Wednesday squarely blamed the state government and the administration for the acute water shortage prevailing in the Shahapur taluka of the district owing to incomplete Bhavali water supply scheme.
While interacting with the villagers during the tour of at least a dozen villages from the scarcity-hit taluka, he slammed the BJP-led state government for not giving approval to the Bhavali dam project, which upon completion will supply water to as many as 285 villages in the taluka.
He rued that although most of the water-supplying dams to the Thane and Mumbai cities are located in Shahapur, the villages in the taluka face acute water shortage and said this was the reason for the villagers' anger and outburst.
