NCP demands separate high court for Haryana

Karnal, Oct 14 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party Haryana unit chief Chaudhary Ved Pal today demanded a separate high court for Haryana on the Haryana Swarn Jayanti day and warned that an agitation would be launched if the demand is not met.
In a statement here, Mr Pal, a former Haryana Assembly Deputy Speaker, said five lakh signatures from each district would be collected to exert pressure on the government for the demand.
Haryana was the first state to be carved out of consolidated Punjab but it has no high court of its own whereas Himachal and Punjab have their separate high courts, the NCP leader rued.
