nCoV: 18 new cases in UT in  past 24 hours

Puducherry, Jan 25 (UNI) Coronavirus infection cases continued to remain under control in the Union Territory with 18 persons testing positive for COVID-19, since the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM on Monday.
No deaths were reported during the period.
According to the COVID-19 status released by the health department here, of the 2,433 swab sample tests conducted on Sunday, 18 persons tested positive for the Coronavirus.
As many as 15 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, one in Yanam region and two in Mahe region.
About 26 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours. Of them, 14 were from Puducherry region and 12 from Mahe region.
Presently, 79 patients are being treated in Puducherry region, three in Karaikal region and 22 in Mahe region.
Another 176 persons diagnosed positive for COVID are taking treatment in home isolation in all the four regions of the UT.
So far, 38,878 persons were infected by the virus and of which 37,953 patients were treated and discharged, 645 people died and 280 patients were in hospitals and home isolation.
The case fatality rate in the UT is 1.66 per cent and the recovery rate is 97.62 per cent.
