NCB officials seize 350 kg of ganga, three held

Chennai, Jan 10 (UNI) Officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday seized 350 kg of Ganja and arrested three people in this connection at Valavanthankotti in Trichy.
NCB Zonal Director A Bruno, in a release here, said acting on specific information, NCB Madurai Sub-Zone officials intercepted a truck and seized 177 packets of ganja stocked in 18 gunny bags.
He said three people, M Ananthan (37) of Salem , C Siva (33) of Madurai and P Rajendran (61) of Nagapattinam were arrested.
Mr Bruno said the drug trafficking gang was active in the recent past and came under the NCB, Chennai, scanner.
They were involved in drug smuggling activities across the country, mainly with their Sri Lankan counterparts.
Further investigation was on to find out their drug trafficking network, Mr Bruno said.

Srinagar, Jun 16 (UNI) Senior CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Sunday said that the National Testing Agency (NTA) should set-up more National Entrance Eligibility Test (NEET) examination centers in Kashmir Valley and Ladakh region to accommodate aspirants, who otherwise have to face hardships and shell out a lot of money to appear for the test in other states.
