New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) Versatile actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who is all set to enthrall the cinegoers again with Nandita Das directorial 'Manto' on Thursday announced that the movie has been selected for Cannes film festival 2018.
Taking to social media site Twitter, Nawazuddin posted,'And it is possible that Saadat Hasan dies, but MANTO remains alive”. Glad to inform that ‘MANTO’ is selected for competition at #Cannes2018 in #UnCertainRegard section.Congratulations @nanditadas and Team #Manto.'
The special promo of the film was screened at Cannes 2017, and is now it has been selected to compete in the 'Uncertain Regard' cateogry at Cannes 2018.
Directed by Nandita Das, Manto chronicles the life of writer-playwright Saadat Hasan Manto. Set in 1940s, the film will show his life and work in the pre-independence era.
