Nawab Malik linked to D-Company: ED

Nawab Malik linked to D-Company: ED

Mumbai, May 24 (UNI) The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday asserted it has concrete evidence against Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik's link with underworld and mafia lord Dawood Ibrahim's gang.
The agency has gathered several pieces of evidence against the Nationalist Congress Party leader, including a statement of Ali Shah Parkar, nephew of 1993 Bombay serial blast accused, Dawood Ibrahim.
Parkar has revealed before the central agency that his mother Haseena Parkar (Dawood's deceased sister) had sold part of the Goawala compound in Kurla to Malik.
In his statement Ali Shah Parkar gave various details of the deal, which was an important piece of evidence that helped ED build the case against Malik.
The NCP leader was arrested in February on charges of money laundering and terror financing by the ED.
In his statement, Ali Shah Parkar also disclosed activities of his late mother. "My mother was actually housewife but she used to do some small financial dealings for a livelihood,” he said.
“She used to get rent from the properties owned by her. She used to lend sums ranging into Rs 3-5 lakh to people who needed funds for their business.
"She used to receive profit as agreed on case-to-case basis. She also used to invest in real estate. Being Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, my mother was a known figure in the society; she used to settle property-related disputes also."
He has said that the family continues to be in touch with Dawood's wife during festivals.
