Navy sail into league phase beating PNB

Chandigarh, Oct 13 (UNI) Indian Navy sailed into the league phase after beating Punjab National Bank by 4-1 in the 36th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament in Jalandhar on Sunday.
In league match in Pool A Holders Army XI beat ONGC Delhi by 3-0 to earn three point.

In the last knock out stage match Indian Navy played a good hockey. Navy took lead in the third minute when Pawan Rajbhar scored a field goal (1-0). In the 15th minute Bank equalized, the scorer was Vishal Antil whon converted penalty corner (1-1).
After that Navy not gave any chance to Bank. For Navy Jugraj Singh scored in 19th minute, Palangappa in 38th minute and Ajinka Jadhav in the 39th minute to complete the tally (4-1).
In the league match in Pool A defending champions Army XI played controlled hockey. First half was goalless.
In the 33rd minute of the third quarter Army XI’s Siraj Alira converted a penalty corner (1-0). In 45th minute of the play Army’s Rahul Rathee scored a field goal from the pass of Bikash Kujur (2-0).

In 52nd minute Budu Tuti converted the penalty corner for Army XI (3-0).

Lavillenie, Adams to join World Athletics Council as full members
