Naveen felicitates VSSUT students for winning the Asia’s first inter college rocket competition.

Bhubaneswar, Oct 7 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today felicitated 20 students of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) for winning the Champion trophy and best Innovation award of Asia’a first inter college rocket competition.

The two day event was organised by the Space Development Nexus and BRICS at New Delhi on August 26 and 27. The 20 member Idea Club of VSSUT team participated in the event with the launching of 3000 ft Rocket VSLV 1.0 and bagged the Champions trophy and the best innovation award in the competition.

The VSLV 1.0 was successfully tested at Hirakud in Odisha. The complete project was divided into ten mission with the first mission being successfully launched into 1 km apogee and subsequently successful launching of VSLV 2,4 8 and 10 km.

After implementation of successful modeling, the team now proposes to launch the final mission of 40 kms for monitoring of Hirakud Dam and Reservoir.

While felicitating the student, the Chief Minister assured them support on their future project.
