NATO chief warns against early troop withdrawal from Afghanistan

Brussels, Nov 23(UNI) NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has warned against early troop withdrawal from Afghanistan saying that it would reverse the gains that have been made over the years.
Speaking at an event on Sunday he said an early and hasty withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan might endanger the gains “we have made; and that’s a risky project.”
The US’s plans to reduce its presence in Afghanistan from roughly 4,500 to around 2,500 troops in January, 2021.
