National conference of Indian Epilepsy Association and Indian Epilepsy society, ECON 2020 starts in Gujarat

Ahmadabad, Jan 17 (UNI) The three-day annual national conference of Indian Epilepsy Association and Indian Epilepsy society, ECON 2020 focused on recent advances related to epilepsy started here on Friday.

Well know Neurologist and Chairman of the organizing committee of the event Prof. Sudhir Shah said that as per the estimates around 10 million people have epilepsy in India, which is 1/6 of total epileptics in world. Gujarat has estimated 6 to 7 lakhs of epileptics. In more than 3/4th of the patients, Epilepsy was treatable. Over the past few years, new developments in the diagnostic modalities and treatment have led to better control and patient care.
