Nation-wide campaign for vegan diet

New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations has launched a campaign across 20 cities to make people aware of the consequence of their food habits and help them shift to a vegan diet that is being accepted by the world as the next best choice.
The campaign, 'Question Your Notion,' is based on a concept called Motivational Interviewing that aims to help people rethink food habits by challenging the notions that they have inadvertently inherited and inculcate compassion towards animals.
This method stands out compared to other modes of attempting to bring an attitude change because of the clinical significance motivational interviewing has on people suffering from addiction, eating disorders and other ailments.
“We are very happy to release this campaign on the fifth birthday of our flagship programme since it helps in accelerating human behaviour change. People hear themselves talking while answering the questions posed to them and that is a big driver towards making compassionate choices,” said MsVarda Mehrotra, Director of FIAPO.
A vegan diet is now considered as one of the healthiest options available. Most importantly, it is an absolutely guilt free, that doesn’t involve causing harm to any animal even in the remotest form. This is the message the campaign wants to get across to people at local and national levels - through education, research, mobilisation, training and direct action.
FIAPO is India's apex animal protection organisation and works to protect the interests of animals on local and national levels - through education, research, mobilisation, training and direct action.
