Nashik: Leopard entrapped, locals heave sigh of relief after month-long terror

Nashik, Jul 13 (UNI) A leopard, which had terrorised the locals as it lurked in the vicinity of Darna area, was finally trapped in a cage here on Monday, stated forest officials.
The big cat was roaming freely though making irregular frightening appearances in the neighbourhood.
Seventeen cages were placed at specific spots to catch the animal, they mentioned, adding that it walked into a trap laid at the Samangaon.
After hearing the feline's saw, the locals noticed that it has been entrapped. Subsequently, they alerted the Forest Department and a team reached the spot.
The leopard has been taken away and will be medically examined, apprised officials.
