Nashik APMC chairman gets conditional bail in bribery case

Nashik, Aug 19 (UNI) A local court on Monday granted a conditional bail to chairman of Nashik Agirculture Product Market Committee (APMC), Shivaji Chumble, who was recently arrested while accepting the bribe of Rs three lakh from the complaint .
When police presented the accused in court today, Chumble was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000.
He was directed to present himself in local ACB office on every Wednesday and Thursday between 1100 hours and 1400 hrs and also not to put pressure on the complainant.
It may be recalled that the Nashik unit of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Chumble at APMC office last Friday while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs three lakh for making the contract workers permanent.
Chumble had demanded Rs 10 lakh as bribe from the contract workers but after bargaining, the amount was fixed at Rs six lakh. He was caught red-handed while accepting the first installment of Rs three lakh.
