Nasheed to return home next month after treatment for bomb attack injuries

Male, Aug 5 (UNI) Former Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed, who is currently in the UK for treatment for injuries sustained in a bomb attack targeting him in May, will return to the country next month, a media report said.
While Nasheed was the target of the attack, investigators have since said that the attackers aimed to kill him. A number of suspects linked to the attack are in police custody, and investigators confirmed that the men support extremist ideologies and deemed Nasheed as an "infidel", raajje.mv reported.
The former president was taken to ADK Hospital immediately after the attack, where he underwent 16 hours of "life-saving" surgery.
