New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address here on Tuesday a national conference on Doubling of Farmers Income by 2022.
The two-day conference in which top officials from states, experts and agriculture scientists are participating, was inaugurated on Monday by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh.
Emphasising the government’s attention on doubling farmers income by 2022, Mr. Singh said there was more focus on irrigation projects for ``har khet ko paani’’, provision of quality seeds to farmers, investment in warehousing and cold chains, promotion of value addition through food processing, creation of e-market, Fasal Bima Yojna and more funding for animal husbandry, horticulture and bee keeping, sources said.
According to the sources, Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat spoke about his experiences in zero budget natural farming which involves integrated approach to soil fertility, animal husbandry, bee-keeping and cropping.
Deputy Chairman of Niti Aayog Rajiv Kumar urged states to come up with success stories of farmers from good farm practices.
