Narendra Modi government wants to take the country Pakistan way: Yechury

Patna, Sep 19 (UNI) Intensifying his attack on the Narendra Modi government,
CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury today accused the government of
taking the country Pakistan way under the influence of its ideological mentor, RSS.

Addressing a meeting after the conclusion of party sponsored 'Jan Akrosh' march here, Mr Yechury said Narendra Modi government was taking the country Pakistan way as it was working under the influence of its ideological mentor RSS.
He said, string of killings and lynchings were glaring examples of how the Narendra Modi government was running the country and condemned ‘institutional murder’ of Hyderabad Central University research scholar Rohit Vemula, government’s ‘conspiracy to dub JNU as den of traitors’, ‘inhuman’ attacks on Dalits in Una, murder of Junaida, lynching of Pehlu Khan, murder of progressive intellectual like Dabholkar, Pansare, Kalburgi and more recently of Gauri Lankesh.

The CPI (M) leader said that present rulers had no role in the nationalist movement and always played second fiddle to British imperialism by advocating the two nation theory. He said now the Centre was committed to destroy all secular principles at any cost.

Mr Yechury said while the Centre was beating drum of nationalism everyday, it was not hesitant in entering into strategic agreements with the US, a danger to the sovereignty of the country itself. He said contracts were being given to US based companies for manufacture of Defence equipments and fighter planes.
