Bhubaneswar, Oct 16 (UNI) The tragic death of white tiger Subhranshu in tick borne blood protozoan disease in Nandankanan Zoo here on Tuesday, forced the Zoo authority to intensify the ongoing anti tick measures.
Subhranshu's death was caused by blood protozoan species likely to be transmitted through a vector like infected 'tick'. The post mortem conducted yesterday revealed the damage of internal body part of liver, intestine and lot of bloody fluid in the body cavity.
Zoo Deputy Director Jayant Das said the exact protozoan species, which has taken the life of Subhranshu, shall be identified in the Laboratory from the necropsy samples collected during the post mortem.
