Nal Jal Scheme in MP to be handed to contractors: Minister

Bhopal, Feb 25 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Public Health Engineering (PHE) Minister Kusum Mehdele today said in the Assembly that the government’s ambitious Nal Jal Yojana would be handed over to contractors.
Replying to a Calling Attention Notice of Mr Mahendra Singh Kalukheda (principal opposition Congress) regarding lowering of water level in several villages in Ashoknagar district, the Minister said the responsibility of the Nal Jal Scheme has been entrusted on the PHE, not to the Panchayat Department and the government decided to give responsibility of the Scheme to the contractors for the next ten years.
Earlier, Mr Kalukheda gave the reference to the Governor’s address in which it said to provide 55 liters of pure potable water in his constituency Mungawali. But Speaker Sitasaran intervened saying the matter should be raised during the discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s Address.
