Naidu leads protest march to Jantar mantar to demand spl status for Andhra

New Delhi, Feb 12 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday led a protest march to demand special status for his state.



Naidu led the march from Andhra Bhawan, where he carried out a day-long fast on the issue, to jantar Mantar.



All the MPs, MLAs and MLCs of his Telugu Desam Party (TDP) attended the march from Andhra Pradesh Bhavan to Jantar Mantar.



Following the protest march, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP legislators will meet President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and submit a memorandum to demand special status for Andhra Pradesh.

Mr Naidu's day-long hunger-strike on Monday proved to be a show of strength for the opposition parties in Delhi as leaders from several political parties, including Congress president Rahul Gandhi, visiting him to express solidarity.

Among those who supported Naidu’s demand for special status for Andhra Pradesh was BJP’s ally Shiv Sena, whose Sanjay Raut said he was “told” by the party chief Uddhav Thackeray to visit the Andhra Pradesh chief minister at his 'dharna' site.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, disgruntled BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha, former prime ministers Manmohan Singh and HD Deve Gowda, NCP president Sharad Pawar, TMC leader Derek O’Brien and former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha also visited Naidu.

New Delhi, Jun 4 (UNI) While wearing a mask is mandatory for all employees, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a 40-point guidelines for its employees on working in office during Corona times that includes allowing entry only to asymptomatic persons into buildings, prohibiting gatherings of more than five persons and staggering work hours.
