Nagaland JD-U to field candidates in Assembly polls

Kohima Jan 13 (UNI) The Janata Dal (united) will participate in the forthcoming Nagaland Assembly elections to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly with the theme “Development for Naga people.”

Addressing a press conference at Kohima today the National Secretary General of JD-U K C Tyagi said that sufficient fund has been granted by the Central Government to the successive Governments in Nagaland, yet the progress and development on the ground is very dismal.
The JDU shall endeavour to fulfill the objective by bringing down the corruption to its lowest ebb, said Tyagi. If voted to power, the JDU is determined to utilise the fund judiciously for the all round development of Nagaland, he added.

The JDU will face the forthcoming general election under the dynamic leadership of Senchumo NSN Lotha, the convenor JDU Nagaland, Tyagi informed. He also informed that as suggested by the Nagaland State Unit of JDU, a dharna will be organised at Jantar Mantar at New Delhi to highlight the burning issues of Nagaland in particular and the North East in general during the last week of January.

The press conference was attended by Senchumo NSN Lotha, Convener of Nagaland init of JDU and Afaque Ahmad Khan, the Secretary of the JDU.
